Cypress Lakes Golf Club officially closes after real estate developers purchase the land

Cypress Lakes Golf Club offically saw it's final balls in the air back on July 6, 2025. After more than 20 years as a beloved local course in Cypress, Texas the property has been sold to a developer, ending its run as one of Houston’s hidden golf gems.
Known for its challenging 18-hole layout, water features, and friendly atmosphere, the course was once praised as a “Best Kept Secret” in Houston golf and noted for its “superb greens” by the Houston Chronicle. The course was also utilized as one of several layouts used by Cy-Fair ISD for their high school golf matches, and sometimes as a local playoff site by the UIL.
What’s Next: A New Master-Planned Community - The course will be transformed into a new residential development featuring: Over 450 single-family homes; A mix of 50’ and 60’ lots; Community parks and retention lakes; A recreation center and access points to Louetta Rd and Cypresswood Dr. This marks a major land use shift in the area, turning fairways into family neighborhoods.
